Si bien puede que Fortuny no sea el \u00fanico que conozca el camino a estos salones sagrados del pasado, encontr\u00f3 la manera de sentirse parte de esa \u00e9poca como solo \u00e9l sabe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aunque ha vivido en Francia durante la mayor parte de los \u00faltimos 20 a\u00f1os, <\/span><b>Brisa Roch\u00e9<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sigue siendo una de las voces m\u00e1s importantes dentro del panorama musical de Estados Unidos, puesto que la mujer de 44 a\u00f1os no solo escribe sus propias canciones, sino que tambi\u00e9n trabaja como autora e incluso como pintora. Tras ser descubierta en una jam de jazz, r\u00e1pidamente lanz\u00f3 su primer \u00e1lbum a trav\u00e9s del sello Blue Note Records, donde Roch\u00e9 ha pasado ya por varios g\u00e9neros (incluido el dark pop, el neo-folk, la electr\u00f3nica y el post-punk) antes de regresar a la escritura de canciones cl\u00e1sicas de la chanson francesa.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>M de Melod\u00eda<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El nuevo \u00e1lbum, <\/span><b><i>Freeze Where U R,<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> aparece como un cofre que rebalsa de tesoros: una verdadera joya sonora. \u00bfC\u00f3mo lo hicieron? La base del \u00e1lbum surgi\u00f3 de los arreglos instrumentales de Fred Fortuny, sobre los que Brisa comenz\u00f3 a cantar espont\u00e1neamente: es que su canto en este \u00e1lbum es, dice, una reacci\u00f3n completamente intuitiva de estas melod\u00edas. Despu\u00e9s de difundir sus letras y sus propias armon\u00edas, Brisa agreg\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n voces de fondo al estilo gospel, todo durante el aislamiento. No fue hasta la \u00faltima etapa que el grupo se reuni\u00f3 en los famosos estudios ICP en Bruselas, donde se realiz\u00f3 la grabaci\u00f3n final alrededor de las pistas vocales resultantes de estos experimentos. El Studio C ten\u00eda un mezclador NEVE que data de 1973 para esto, que, en combinaci\u00f3n con estas canciones, cre\u00f3 un \u00e1lbum que suena tan vintage como contempor\u00e1neo.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>C de California<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 hace que este \u00e1lbum sea tan carism\u00e1tico, tan inquietante?<br \/>\nProbablemente se deba al hecho de que se trata de la uni\u00f3n musical de dos individuos muy independientes. Brisa, originaria de California, ha vivido y celebrado su rol como forastera durante muchos a\u00f1os, al menos desde que comenz\u00f3 a actuar como m\u00fasica callejera en el metro de Par\u00eds hace 26 a\u00f1os. Antes de eso hab\u00eda crecido en una peque\u00f1a casa en Humboldt Bay, en un rinc\u00f3n remoto del norte de California. Su familia se mud\u00f3 a las monta\u00f1as cuando ella ten\u00eda 13 a\u00f1os, por lo que creci\u00f3 sin electricidad ni tel\u00e9fono. Luego, a los 16 a\u00f1os, Brisa se fue a Seattle, donde la ola grunge acababa de estallar. Al hacer de la ciudad de Par\u00eds su casa de verano y su hogar adoptivo, su carrera art\u00edstica fue, en cierto modo, preprogramada. El estilo californiano invisible en ella se escucha en este nuevo \u00e1lbum. El entusiasmo de la juventud, por tanto, tambi\u00e9n resuena en sus composiciones m\u00e1s fr\u00e1giles, la magia pura de un oeste salvaje del que ella es la \u00fanica que conoce las coordenadas.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>F de Femenina<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La voz y la letra de Brisa hacen de <\/span><b><i>Freeze Where U R<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> un \u00e1lbum decididamente femenino. \u201cHe escrito sobre momentos y temas de diferentes etapas de la vida de una mujer, vistos a trav\u00e9s de la lente emocional de mi vida actual, bas\u00e1ndome en mi existencia en el aqu\u00ed y ahora\u00bb, comparte Roch\u00e9. \u201cEmancipaci\u00f3n, nostalgia de amores pasados, rabia contra los hombres, separaci\u00f3n e independencia en el trabajo; siempre estoy abriendo nuevos cap\u00edtulos\u2026 La revuelta contra la esclavitud que traen los avances tecnol\u00f3gicos y virtuales\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cuando Brisa Roch\u00e9 se acerc\u00f3 al micr\u00f3fono, le sucedi\u00f3 algo que nunca antes hab\u00eda experimentado: se separ\u00f3, se transform\u00f3 en dos personas.
