D\u00e9j\u00e0 jeune, il est dot\u00e9 d&rsquo;un talent musical exceptionnel et joue des instruments \u00e0 clavier, de la guitare et de la batterie. Il est d&rsquo;abord actif sur la sc\u00e8ne musicale des clubs de Kinshasa (notamment <strong>Papa Wemba<\/strong>). \u00c0 ce jour, sa discographie comprend plus de 20 albums. Vivant \u00e0 Paris depuis 1982, <strong>Lema<\/strong> a connu un grand succ\u00e8s en tant qu&rsquo;artiste de \u00ab\u00a0world music\u00a0\u00bb depuis les ann\u00e9es 1980 et a travaill\u00e9 avec beaucoup de grands noms internationaux tels que <strong>Stewart Copeland<\/strong>, <strong>Joachim K\u00fchn<\/strong> ou <strong>Archie Shepp<\/strong>. En r\u00e9sultat, son enfance a \u00e9t\u00e9 fortement influenc\u00e9e par la culture fran\u00e7aise et notamment la musique. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une bourse d&rsquo;\u00e9tude, Laurent retourne aux \u00c9tats-Unis en 1984 pour r\u00e9aliser son r\u00eave de toujours et \u00e9tudier le piano jazz. Dans les ann\u00e9es qui suivent, il travaille avec d&rsquo;innombrables artistes (dont <strong>Greg Osby<\/strong>, <strong>Reggie Workman<\/strong>, <strong>Ralph Moore<\/strong> et <strong>Aldo Romano<\/strong>), donne des concerts dans le monde entier et \u00e9crit de la musique pour le th\u00e9\u00e2tre et le cin\u00e9ma. Ainsi, deux l\u00e9gendes vivantes du piano sont r\u00e9unies sur cette collaboration passionnante qu&rsquo;est l&rsquo;album de <strong><em>Wheels<\/em><\/strong>.
