Son attrait du violoncelle est n\u00e9, il y a dix ans, lorsqu&rsquo;elle a entendu l&rsquo;hommage enchanteur du quatuor <strong>Vitamin String Quartet<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Imany - The A Team (Ed Sheeran Cover)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/63rcRb930Fg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Nadia Mladjao est assez polyvalente. Enfant d&rsquo;une grande famille comorienne, elle a appris tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t \u00e0 s&rsquo;affirmer et \u00e0 se battre pour sa place. Elle commence son parcours de mannequin \u00e0 New York avant d&rsquo;\u00eatre irr\u00e9sistiblement attir\u00e9e par la musique. Mais Nadia ne d\u00e9voile son v\u00e9ritable potentiel que lorsqu&rsquo;elle adopte le nom de sc\u00e8ne d&rsquo;Imany. Elle a publi\u00e9 deux albums, <em><strong>The Shape of a Broken Heart<\/strong><\/em> (2011) et <strong><em>The Wrong Kind of War<\/em><\/strong> (2016), qui m\u00ealent soul et folk \u00e0 son incroyable temp\u00e9rament. Avec<strong> \u00a0Don&rsquo;t Be So Shy\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong>, Imany a \u00e9galement \u00e9crit un hymne girl power pour le film \u00ab Sous les jupes des filles \u00bb de la r\u00e9alisatrice fran\u00e7aise<strong> Audrey Dana<\/strong> en 2014. Aujourd&rsquo;hui, pour son album de reprises <em><strong>Voodoo Cello<\/strong><\/em>, elle s&rsquo;entoure de huit violoncellistes et s&rsquo;approprie chaque chanson.<\/p>\n<p>Huit violoncellistes et une voix, du jamais vu. Pour sa nouvelle \u0153uvre, <strong>Imany<\/strong> a trouv\u00e9 que les violoncelles associ\u00e9s \u00e0 un simple accompagnement vocal seraient plus que suffisants. Ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, elle a enchain\u00e9 les concerts, elle s&rsquo;est consacr\u00e9e \u00e0 divers projets, elle a donn\u00e9 naissance \u00e0 un enfant et a souffert d&rsquo;un burn-out. Par cons\u00e9quent, lever le pied lui a permis de se reposer et a finalement inspir\u00e9 son nouvel album. Huit violoncelles offrent une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de possibilit\u00e9s entre les notes graves et aigu\u00ebs : \u00ab\u00a0On a parfois l&rsquo;impression qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agit de cuivres ou de guitares \u00e9lectriques&#8230; C&rsquo;est comme s&rsquo;ils \u00e9taient des fant\u00f4mes\u00a0\u00bb, dit Imany, qui est enchant\u00e9e par cet instrument fascinant et incompris et qui lui rend maintenant hommage avec une s\u00e9rie de reprises. On pourrait penser \u00e0 du vaudou. J&rsquo;aborde la chanson \u00e0 la voix et \u00e0 la guitare, je cherche la tonalit\u00e9 qui me convient, je change le tempo&#8230; et j&rsquo;\u00e9coute les paroles. Je ne peux pas chanter des mots auxquels je ne crois pas.\u00a0\u00bb Pour la chanteuse, il s&rsquo;agissait parfois de rendre plus m\u00e9lancolique une chanson l\u00e9g\u00e8re et vice-versa. Cette magie unique op\u00e8re au travers d&rsquo;un son soigneusement travaill\u00e9 qui semble \u00e9galement spontan\u00e9, direct et brut, mais sans \u00eatre dur, cristallin ou poli. Elle chante les femmes qui se battent pour leurs relations (\u00ab\u00a0All The Things She Said\u00a0\u00bb), les fraternit\u00e9s (\u00ab\u00a0Wild World\u00a0\u00bb), la capacit\u00e9 de r\u00e9silience (\u00ab\u00a0I&rsquo;m Still Standing\u00a0\u00bb), elle condamne le racisme (\u00ab\u00a0Black Little Angels\u00a0\u00bb), le capitalisme toxique (\u00ab\u00a0Les voleurs d&rsquo;eau\u00a0\u00bb), les d\u00e9g\u00e2ts de la drogue (\u00ab\u00a0The A Team\u00a0\u00bb).
