Le chanteur briochin d\u2019origine australienne Maxwell Farrington et le muti-instrumentiste avignonnais Christophe Vaillant se sont rencontr\u00e9s dans des circonstances improbables, mais cela a d\u00e9bouch\u00e9 sur quelque chose de vraiment sp\u00e9cial. Les deux hommes ont fait connaissance lors d’un concert commun \u00e0 La Boule Noire, dans le cadre du festival MaMA \u00e0 Paris en 2019. Pendant la balance de voix de Farrington, ce dernier a chant\u00e9 une version acapella d’une chanson de Burt Bacharach, ce qui a conduit \u00e0 une conversation engag\u00e9e entre les deux musiciens et c\u2019est ainsi que le duo de Maxwell Farrington & Le SuperHomard est n\u00e9.<\/p>\n

ONCE<\/em><\/h3>\n

Il \u00e9tait clair que les deux hommes avaient beaucoup de points communs en termes de go\u00fbts, mais musicalement, ils ont rapidement fait des \u00e9tincelles aussi, \u00e9changeant mutuellement jusqu’\u00e0 ce que l’esquisse d’un album \u00e9merge. Sorti en avril 2021,\u00a0Once<\/i><\/b>\u00a0est le premier album du duo, compos\u00e9 de 12 titres. L’art de Vaillant est \u00e0 l’honneur, bien qu’avec un changement de ton vers une pop plus orchestrale, avec des cordes luxuriantes qui soul\u00e8vent les chansons, tout comme de tendres grattements de guitare qui les maintiennent en place. Cet \u00e9crin musical soign\u00e9, associ\u00e9 \u00e0 la voix de baryton contagieuse de Farrington, donne lieu \u00e0 une collaboration sans faille qui doit autant \u00e0 la riche histoire de la musique qu’aux sons contemporains.<\/p>\n

De nombreux artistes ont choisi de faire de la musique en vase clos, repr\u00e9sentative de l’\u00e9poque \u00e9trange dans laquelle nous vivons, avec des sentiments d’isolement et de claustrophobie enveloppant le ton. Ici, le duo a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de faire un album porteur et jubilatoire. C’est ce qu’a retenu Vaillant en r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissant \u00e0 ce disque. \u00ab\u00a0\u00c9tant donn\u00e9 que la majeure partie de cet album a \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9e pendant une pand\u00e9mie anxiog\u00e8ne, curieusement, cela ne fait que me rappeler tout le plaisir que j’ai eu \u00e0 travailler sur ces chansons.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n
