F\u00e9lix St\u00e9nard, plus connu sous le nom de Daddy Yod ou King Daddy Yod<\/strong>, est un artiste fran\u00e7ais n\u00e9 \u00e0 Petit Canal en Guadeloupe. Il est un des pionniers du style raggamuffin<\/strong> en France. Il fait ses d\u00e9buts en prenant le micro au sein du sound system Youthman Unity Academy, avant de participer, en 1987, \u00e0 la compilation \u00ab\u00a0France Connection\u00a0\u00bb avec le titre \u00ab\u00a0Elle n’est pas pr\u00eate\u00a0\u00bb. Trois ans plus tard, il est invit\u00e9 sur la compilation Rapattitude<\/strong><\/em>, sur laquelle il se fait remarquer avec son morceau \u00ab\u00a0Rock en zonzon\u00a0\u00bb, l\u2019album sera rapidement certifi\u00e9 Disque d\u2019Or. Sa popularit\u00e9 aux Antilles et en M\u00e9tropole s\u2019accroit encore davantage avec le single \u00ab\u00a0Faut pas taper la doudou\u00a0\u00bb, extrait de son premier album Redoutable<\/em><\/strong>, sorti en 1990 et r\u00e9cemment r\u00e9\u00e9dit\u00e9 en format digital. L\u2019ann\u00e9e suivante, il livre un deuxi\u00e8me opus, baptis\u00e9 King<\/strong><\/em>, qui contient le succ\u00e8s \u00ab\u00a0Delbor \u00bb. Il enregistre ensuite les albums L’incorruptible<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 (1993), avec le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre duo Jama\u00efcain Sly & Robbie, puis Le survivant<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 (1995) et Le contrat<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(1997), tout en collaborant \u00e9galement avec le groupe de rap Tout Simplement Noir.<\/p>\n

En 2001, il fait paraitre l\u2019album Kimb\u00e9 Red<\/strong><\/em>, suivi de Show girl<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 (2002) et Fra\u00eeche<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(2006), sur lequel il remet au go\u00fbt jour son hit \u00ab\u00a0Delbor\u00a0\u00bb en compagnie de Flya, Jamadom, Tiwony et Ragga Ranks, et participe en parall\u00e8le aux compilations Killa session 2<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0et Atomic Riddim. En 2010, il co-r\u00e9alise, avec Cristobal S\u00e9villa, le film documentaire \u00ab\u00a0Il \u00e9tait une fois … Raggamuffin\u00a0\u00bb qui regroupe des entrevues avec les principaux acteurs du mouvement tels que Pablo Master, Princess Erika, Sa\u00ef Sa\u00ef, Ras Kodjo Asher de Jah Wisdom, Sidney de l’\u00e9mission H.I.P H.O.P ou Ragga Dub Force Massive. En 2014, il revisite \u00e0 nouveau son c\u00e9l\u00e8bre single \u00ab\u00a0Delbor\u00a0\u00bb avec de jeunes artistes, Daly et Politik Nai pour f\u00eater son retour sur la sc\u00e8ne antillaise, puis il enregistre les singles \u00ab\u00a0D\u00e9marr\u00e9 mwen \u00bb (2018), en compagnie du regrett\u00e9 Jacob Desvarieux du groupe Kassav\u2019, et \u00ab\u00a0Aime la vie que tu m\u00e8nes \u00bb (2021) aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de l\u2019artiste Real Axe. En 2022, il est invit\u00e9 sur l\u2019E.P Soundclash time<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0du label Old Capital Records, et d\u00e9voile trois nouveaux singles (\u00ab\u00a0Confusion\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Clean \u00bb et \u00ab Peu importe\u00a0\u00bb), annonciateurs de son nouvel album, attendu pour la rentr\u00e9e prochaine.<\/p>\n

Afin de patienter en musique, King Daddy Yod a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 une playlist exclusive pour What The France, qui met notamment \u00e0 l\u2019honneur les artistes d\u2019Outre-Mer avec des titres sign\u00e9s Jacob Desvarieux, Majesty, Sir Samuel, Kalash, Admiral T, Keros-N, Kassav\u2019, Guy Al MC, Yaniss Odua, Sista Jahia, Fefe Typical & DJ Kaprisson, Were-vana, Krys, DJ Moody Mike & Jahlys, Thierry Cham ou Francky Vincent, mais aussi Princess Erika, Nuttea, Real Axe<\/strong> ou le regrett\u00e9 Tonton David.<\/strong><\/p>\n
