Anwar<\/strong> <\/a>vient de d\u00e9voiler son nouvel E.P, baptis\u00e9 Follow Me<\/em><\/strong>, disponible depuis le 14 octobre dernier sur le label fran\u00e7ais ThinkZik\u00a0!<\/strong>. \u00ab Je suis un sentimental \u00bb annonce Anwar dont le nouvel E.P, extrait de son second album \u00e0 venir, est une serre o\u00f9 fleurissent romances et chants d\u2019amour.<\/span><\/p>\n

Parmi les cinq titres propos\u00e9s, certains auraient pu servir \u00e0 baptiser une nouvelle vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de roses comme \u00ab\u00a0The One\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0Elizabeth\u00a0\u00bb. A chacune sa couleur, son parfum, son message et ses \u00e9pines, sans doute. Nous sommes en 2022, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e8re du speed dating, du revenge porn, de l\u2019amour d\u00e9sacralis\u00e9, et un troubadour \u00e0 la voix androgyne prend encore la peine de cultiver des chansons d\u2019amour \u00e0 l\u2019ancienne \u00e0 l\u2019aide du seul engrais admissible, la sinc\u00e9rit\u00e9. A sentiment \u00e9ternel, musique sans \u00e2ge. Celle d\u2019Anwar d\u00e9fie le temps, ignore les modes, se moque des tendances. A la fois pop, rock, folk, avec des soup\u00e7ons de blues ou de reggae, les m\u00e9lodies caressent la m\u00e9moire mais se gardent bien de flatter la moindre nostalgie. M\u00eame si, sans le chercher, sans y penser, elles rejoignent un inconscient collectif, r\u00e9veillent en nous l\u2019adolescent \u00e9pris de musiciens, de Buddy Holly \u00e0 Bob Marley, pass\u00e9s ma\u00eetres dans l\u2019art de sublimer l\u2019instant et le sentiment en trois couplets et un refrain.<\/p>\n

N\u00e9 \u00e0 T\u00e9touan au Maroc dans les ann\u00e9es 80, Anwar a ensuite grandi \u00e0 Bruxelles, v\u00e9cu un temps \u00e0 Malaga, fait des \u00e9tudes de Sciences Economiques et exerc\u00e9 divers m\u00e9tiers avant d\u2019entrevoir une carri\u00e8re artistique. Il a ainsi fabriqu\u00e9 des plombs de p\u00eache, tenu un cyber caf\u00e9 ou travaill\u00e9 dans une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de nettoyage. Tout en cultivant ce jardin, la musique, qui de secret est vite devenu envahissant. De son enfance, il conserve le souvenir d\u2019un p\u00e8re m\u00e9lomane \u00e9coutant Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, Creedence Clearwater Revival. Mais aussi des lectures, nourrissant une sensibilit\u00e9 port\u00e9e au romanesque. Le d\u00e9clic est venu avec l\u2019album The Score<\/em> du groupe new yorkais The Fugees qui va lui servir de guide chant, sa voix chantonnant sur celle de Lauryn Hill fut une r\u00e9v\u00e9lation.Il bricole un temps avec le rap puis int\u00e8gre un ensemble fusionnant rock et musique gnaoua dont le passage au Festival d\u2019Essaouira en 2005 demeure le principal fait d\u2019arme. \u00abJ\u2019ignorais absolument tout de cette culture mais en m\u2019y penchant, j\u2019ai beaucoup appris sur moi-m\u00eame\u00bb souligne celui qui se situe \u00e0 la confluence de plusieurs origines\u00a0: berb\u00e8re, arabe, subsaharienne. Suivront d\u2019autres rencontres, d\u2019autres exp\u00e9riences avec des noms pass\u00e9s plus ou moins inaper\u00e7us comme Tizichen, Maximin et Tata Njava de Suarez, avant que son destin ne se pr\u00e9cise. \u00ab\u00catre autodidacte fait perdre beaucoup de temps mais permet aussi d\u2019apprendre de ses erreurs\u00bb. Le temps, il le rattrape apr\u00e8s sa rencontre avec la chanteuse Zaz<\/strong> qui l\u2019invitera \u00e0 honorer les premi\u00e8res parties de sa tourn\u00e9e. \u00abDu jour au lendemain, je suis pass\u00e9 du Divan du Monde au Z\u00e9nith, de quelques centaines de personnes \u00e0 plusieurs milliers\u00bb. En 2016, son premier album est le juste reflet de son titre : Beautiful Sunrise<\/em><\/strong>. Des m\u00e9lodies qui vous atteignent avec la puret\u00e9, la v\u00e9nust\u00e9 d\u2019un premier rayon de soleil. Des romances qui vous s\u00e9duisent plus qu\u2019elles ne vous draguent. Comme pour son premier album, Follow Me<\/em> ne promet que ce qu\u2019il peut tenir: de la lumi\u00e8re venantdes racines m\u00e9diterran\u00e9ennes de son auteur ainsi que de son pr\u00e9nom, Anwar, qui signifie \u00ablumi\u00e8res\u00bb en arabe; mais aussi du halo de\u00a0 d\u00e9licatesse qui entoure chacun des morceaux.<\/p>\n

Enregistr\u00e9 dans un studio de la r\u00e9gion parisienne avec le concours de Pascal Dana\u00e9 et Nicolas Qu\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation, et int\u00e9gralement chant\u00e9 en anglais, Follow Me<\/em> peint une nouvelle carte du tendre \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019une palette de sonorit\u00e9s qui de tout temps enluminent la pop de style classique: des guitares, des claviers, une batterie. Le tout s\u2019accompagne d\u2019un vocabulaire qui consacre la supr\u00eame victoire du c\u0153ur et c\u2019est comme si tout recommen\u00e7ait, que la musique retrouvait son innocence perdue, sa sensibilit\u00e9 primordiale. Avec une esth\u00e9tique d\u00e9riv\u00e9e de celle du blues, \u00e0 laquelle la guitare de Pascal Dana\u00e9 n\u2019est pas \u00e9trang\u00e8re, ainis le titre \u00ab\u00a0The One\u00a0\u00bb c\u00e9l\u00e8bre l\u2019amour comme id\u00e9al et pr\u00e9alable \u00e0 toute chose en ce monde. Et notamment \u00e0 ce r\u00e9pertoire o\u00f9 se cristallise tant\u00f4t le souvenir d\u2019une liaison pour \u00ab\u00a0Elizabeth\u00a0\u00bb, l\u2019exp\u00e9rience de la solitude dans \u00ab\u00a0Lonely\u00a0\u00bb, un slow de facture tr\u00e8s ann\u00e9es 50 fa\u00e7on Heartbreak Hotel. Autant que les sentiments, c\u2019est le d\u00e9sir qui enflamme les personnages de Follow Me<\/em>, les transportant de Casablanca \u00e0 Zanzibar et jusqu\u2019au voyage \u00a0transfrontalier du titre eponyme. Or si la passion finit bien souvent par \u00e9touffer son destinataire, celle attis\u00e9e dans cet E.P nous traverse avec la l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 d\u2019un frisson et fait de ce disque un v\u00e9ritable enchantement. \u00ab\u00a0Pour moi cet E.P est une photographie d’instants, de situations, d’\u00e9motions. Avec des personnages, certains que j’ai crois\u00e9s, fr\u00e9quent\u00e9s ou juste aper\u00e7us, qui sont des gens ordinaires et que tout le monde conna\u00eet. Ce sont des mots sur des m\u00e9lodies qui restituent des moments de vie et racontent des histoires universelles.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n
