L\u2019artiste Sarah Rebecca<\/a> na\u00eet et grandit \u00e0\u00a0Ocean<\/span>\u00a0Springs, Mississippi, aux Etats-Unis. D\u00e8s ses cinq ans, elle s’habille avec de longues robes et pr\u00e9vient ses parents que la chant et la musique seront toute sa vie. En attendant d’\u00eatre en \u00e2ge de r\u00e9aliser son r\u00eave, Sarah fait ses gammes \u00e0 la chorale gospel de l’\u00e9glise baptiste, guid\u00e9e par sa grand-m\u00e8re,\u00a0Mammaw<\/span>, chez qui elle passe le plus clair de son temps avec ses fr\u00e8res, s\u0153ur et cousins. Ses r\u00e9f\u00e9rences musicales d’alors se nomment Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Joni Mitchell ou encore Leonard Cohen et Bob Dylan. Son premier groupe, lorsqu\u2019elle n\u2019a encore que treize ans, s’oriente vers le\u00a0shoegaze<\/span> et le grunge, notamment sous l\u2019influence de Nirvana.\u00a0Le Sud des Etats-Unis, tr\u00e8s conservateur, lui fait subir une \u00e9ducation stricte et d\u00e9vou\u00e9e aux hommes, ce qui aura pour effet chez elle d’\u00eatre constamment vigilante sur les effets pervers du patriarcat et l\u2019am\u00e8nera \u00e0 revendiquer un f\u00e9minisme actif. A dix-sept ans elle accompagne la chorale de son \u00e9cole et chante du Vivaldi dans la mythique basilique Saint-Marc \u00e0 Venise en Italie. Ce voyage la conforte dans le fait qu’avec le chant elle pourra aller partout dans le monde. C\u2019est ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 dix-huit ans Sarah quitte d\u00e9finitivement la langueur du Sud pour New-York, puis San Francisco. Sur place, elle c\u00f4toie la communaut\u00e9 folk et sort son premier album, intitul\u00e9\u00a0 Blue\u00a0pearl<\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0happiness<\/span><\/strong><\/em> . Elle d\u00e9cide ensuite de partir en tourn\u00e9e en Europe, sans se douter que ce voyage constituera un tournant dans sa vie.<\/p>\n

C’est \u00e0 Paris que Sarah d\u00e9cide de s’installer et r\u00e9side depuis. Les temps sont durs, mais cette voix am\u00e9ricaine venue du gospel attire rapidement l’attention du compositeur et producteur fran\u00e7ais L\u00e9o\u00a0Hellden<\/span>, qui lui propose de collaborer sur le premier album de son groupe\u00a0Slove<\/span>\u00a0pour lequel elle compose le morceau \u00ab\u00a0Flash\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> en 2011. Elle sort ensuite un E.P sur le label HMS, se convertit \u00e0 l’\u00e9lectro-pop en int\u00e9grant synth\u00e9tiseurs, machines et boites \u00e0 rythmes \u00e0 ses textes et \u00e0 ses m\u00e9lodies. En 2016, elle collabore avec le prestigieux producteur French79 sur le hit pop glam \u00ab Diamond\u00a0Veins<\/span>\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong>, repris dans de nombreux spots publicitaires et s\u00e9ries (Jimmy Choo, Yves Saint Laurent, Cadillac et la s\u00e9rie Netflix \u00ab\u00a0Russian<\/span>\u00a0doll<\/span>\u00a0\u00bb ), qui cumule \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent plus de 30 millions de\u00a0streams<\/span>. L\u2019ann\u00e9e suivante, ce m\u00eame titre sera remix\u00e9 avec succ\u00e8s par Kid\u00a0Francescoli<\/span>\u00a0(plus de 5 millions de\u00a0streams<\/span>), puis \u00e0 nouveau en 2021 par les c\u00e9l\u00e8bres VER:WEST et\u00a0Ti\u00ebsto<\/span>\u00a0(plus de 4 millions de\u00a0streams<\/span>).<\/p>\n

En 2020, elle enregistre le morceau \u00ab\u00a0All\u00a0my<\/span>\u00a0heroes<\/span>\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> pour le producteur et compositeur fran\u00e7ais Naeleck,\u00a0 qui remporte un succ\u00e8s mondial et totalise \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent plus de 40 millions de\u00a0streams<\/span>. En 2021, c\u2019est avec le label fran\u00e7ais Alter K qu\u2019elle livre successivement la version\u00a0deluxe<\/span>\u00a0de son album \u00e9ponyme, avec des remix sign\u00e9s Kid\u00a0Francescoli<\/span>, Le\u00a0Wanderer<\/span> ou BLOW,\u00a0 puis l\u2019E.P The Guitar sessions <\/strong><\/em>, suivi en juillet dernier du single \u00ab\u00a0Whatever<\/span>\u00a0happens<\/span>\u00a0\/ Tout ira bien\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> avec Ariel T, qui figure dans la bande originale de la tr\u00e8s populaire s\u00e9rie Netflix\u00a0 Emily In Paris<\/strong> .
