Le label fran\u00e7ais reggae Tabou1<\/a><\/strong> voit le jour en 1996, son fondateur Guillaume Bougard<\/strong> \u00e9tait alors vice-pr\u00e9sident du service fusions-acquisitions de la Banque Worms. Sp\u00e9cialiste de la finance et des montages sophistiqu\u00e9s, il a l\u2019envie de voler de ses propres ailes en vivant de sa passion pour le Reggae<\/strong> et en montant une boite de conseil pour les artistes de ce style musical mondialement appr\u00e9ci\u00e9. Fan de Reggae depuis 1978, il a connu les radios libres et a anim\u00e9 pendant trois ans l’\u00e9mission Babylon pour RCV \u00e0 Lille<\/strong> pendant ses \u00e9tudes de finance \u00e0 l’EDHEC.<\/p>\n

\"Tabou1,<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s un concert de Third World <\/strong>\u00e0 l’\u00c9lys\u00e9e Montmartre, il rencontre le musicien jama\u00efcain et membre fondateur du groupe Cat Coore \u00e0 qui il propose de sortir un album solo, pour ce faire il s\u2019associe \u00e0 Eric Basset, alors patron de D\u00e9clic et futur fondateur d\u2019Aztec Musique<\/strong>, label sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 dans les musiques antillaises, ensemble ils font paraitre l\u2019opus Uptown Rebel<\/em>. Cat Coore invite ensuite Guillaume Bougard en Jama\u00efque pour le Reggae Sunsplash 1996<\/strong>. Sur place, l\u2019artiste lui pr\u00e9sente de nombreux coll\u00e8gues dont Dennis Brown, Sugar Minott ou Pablo Moses, mais aussi Sly Dunbar et Robbie Shakespeare. Notre producteur rentre en France avec des titres du Bunny Rugs, que le chanteur de Third World lui a confi\u00e9 en vue d\u2019une sortie. Pendant ce m\u00eame s\u00e9jour, il signe des licences avec Pablo Moses et r\u00e9\u00e9dite les albums Pave The Way Dub<\/em> et In The Future + Dub<\/em>, chez Night & Day, puis Media 7, o\u00f9 il fait ensuite paraitre Satta Dub<\/em>, premier album<\/strong> dub<\/strong> du trio l\u00e9gendaire The Abyssinians<\/strong>. D\u00e9but 99, il d\u00e9cide de fabriquer lui-m\u00eame ses albums pour gagner en ind\u00e9pendance et signe un accord de distribution chez Wagram. Pendant plusieurs ann\u00e9es, il sortira un \u00e0 deux albums par mois et Tabou1 devient alors le plus gros label Reggae d’Europe continentale<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Guillaume Bougard<\/strong> s\u2019associe ensuite au mythique duo Sly & Robbie, qui lui donnent acc\u00e8s au catalogue de leur label Taxi, v\u00e9ritable mine d\u2019or qu\u2019il distribue pour eux, avec des albums merveilleux de Michael Rose, dont X Uhuru<\/em>, ainsi que des disques de Yami Bolo, Innocent Crew ou Sly & Robbie et de multiples compilations<\/strong> de haut vol. Au-del\u00e0 de ces r\u00e9\u00e9ditions, il se lance \u00e9galement dans la production avec un premier album du l\u00e9gendaire U Roy, baptis\u00e9 Serious Matter<\/em><\/strong>, sur lequel il invite des chanteurs tels qu\u2019Horace Andy, Beres Hammond, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, ou Israel Vibration. Le succ\u00e8s est \u00e9norme et les tourn\u00e9es s’encha\u00eenent pour U Roy, dont il sort ensuite l\u2019opus Now<\/em>un an plus tard. Il produit \u00e9galement Mek It Bun<\/em> du g\u00e9nial Horace Andy, suivi quelques ann\u00e9es plus tard de Livin\u2019 It Up<\/em>. Tabou1 mettra tr\u00e8s vite l’accent sur le digital : son catalogue<\/strong> est disponible sur les plateformes de vente en ligne depuis 2004<\/strong>, il sera ainsi le premier label de Reggae au monde \u00e0 se lancer dans les ventes digitales, puis le streaming. Ceci lui permet de financer de nouvelles productions, avec par exemple l’album Dubrising<\/em>, mix\u00e9 par Groucho Smykle, Dub Serge<\/em> (sur lequel Sly & Robbie rejouent l’album de Serge Gainsbourg Aux Armes, etc.<\/em>) ou l\u2019album Hey Yo<\/em>\u00a0de Keith Foundation, sans oublier son travail avec le talentueux Bitty McLean.<\/p>\n

La rencontre avec Bitty<\/strong> est une belle histoire qui dure depuis pr\u00e8s de 20 ans<\/strong>, elle commence avec le single \u00e0 succ\u00e8s The real thing,<\/em> enregistr\u00e9 sur des productions sign\u00e9es Sly & Robbie en 2006. Ce disque est suivi de Movin\u2019 On<\/em>, produit au studio de Sly & Robbie, puis viendront cinq autres albums dont le dernier en date, intitul\u00e9 Forward<\/em><\/strong>, vient de sortir le 14 avril dernier<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Toujours partant pour de nouvelles aventures, Guillaume Bougard<\/strong> vient de lancer Tabou1 dans l\u2019univers novateur des NFT de musique<\/strong>. Depuis plusieurs mois, il construit une plateforme qui proposera d’abord des in\u00e9dits de Bitty McLean, Sly & Robbie, Johnny Clarke ou Bunny Rugs qui seront uniquement disponibles en format NFT et exclusivement sur le site www.tabou1.com<\/a>, ceux-ci ne seront jamais vendus autre part. Il envisage ensuite de mettre \u00e0 disposition sa technologie \u00e0 d’autres labels et de commercialiser d’autres formes d’art comme la photo et la peinture. Le but est d\u2019imposer Tabou1 sur la blockchain, car d\u2019apr\u00e8s lui cette technologie permet de mieux r\u00e9mun\u00e9rer les artistes tout en procurant une exp\u00e9rience artistique plus riche au public.<\/p>\n
