Inna De Yard<\/a> est un projet qui regroupe quelques-uns des plus grands artistes du reggae jama\u00efcain. Leur album du m\u00eame nom,\u00a0Inna de Yard<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0sortira ce 12 avril. Le film \u00e9ponyme<\/a> de Peter Webber<\/strong> retra\u00e7ant l’\u00e9pop\u00e9e du groupe fera sa premi\u00e8re \u00e0 Cannes en juin prochain.<\/p>\n

Alors que le reggae vient tout juste d’\u00eatre inscrit au Patrimoine culturel immat\u00e9riel de l\u2019Unesco<\/strong>, le travail du collectif Inna De Yard semble plus important que jamais et va au-del\u00e0 du simple plaisir de (re)d\u00e9couvrir de nouvelles versions de vieux classiques. Qui pourrait mieux incarner l’authenticit\u00e9 et la culture jama\u00efcaine que ce groupe de l\u00e9gendes oubli\u00e9es qui, dans les ann\u00e9es 60 et 70, jouaient du ska, du rocksteady puis du reggae, comme ils le font aujourd’hui avec Inna de Yard ?<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Inna De Yard en route vers Hollywood !\u00a0\u00bb Cette exclamation famili\u00e8re du chanteur Cedric Myton lors du tournage du documentaire de Peter Webber (3 nominations aux Oscars pour \u00ab\u00a0The Girl with the Pearl Earring\u00a0\u00bb) a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9 comme une blague. Tout a commenc\u00e9 lorsque Peter Webber, fascin\u00e9 par le sujet, a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de filmer l’enregistrement de l’album. Plusieurs partenaires ont tout mis en \u0153uvre pour sortir le film. La projection officielle est maintenant pr\u00e9vue en juin prochain dans une centaine de salles fran\u00e7aises. Port\u00e9 par le succ\u00e8s inattendu de leur album de 2017 (The Soul of Jamaica<\/strong><\/em>) et une premi\u00e8re tourn\u00e9e \u00e0 guichets ferm\u00e9s en France (dont les d\u00e9sormais l\u00e9gendaires concerts \u00e0 la Philharmonie et au Trianon \u00e0 Paris), ils d\u00e9cident d’enregistrer un nouvel album : une compilation de leurs titres les plus connus.<\/p>\n

Inna De Yard r\u00e9unit quatre grands chanteurs dont les parcours au fil des ans ont conduit \u00e0 des destins diff\u00e9rents (Ken Boothe<\/strong>, Cedric Myton<\/strong>, Winston McAnuff<\/strong> et Kiddus I<\/strong>), ainsi que le groupe The Viceroys<\/strong>, un trio de musiciens des ann\u00e9es 70, et la jeune g\u00e9n\u00e9ration (Var<\/strong>, Jah9<\/strong>, Derajah<\/strong>) qui souhaitent poursuivre la tradition musicale de leurs racines. Plusieurs invit\u00e9s, dont Horace Andy<\/strong> et Judy Mowatt<\/strong> (l’une des choristes de Bob Marley au sein du trio I-Threes), prennent \u00e9galement part \u00e0 ces excellentes sessions.<\/p>\n
