Irma Pany<\/strong>, plus connue sous son nom de sc\u00e8ne Irma<\/strong>, est une auteure-compositrice interpr\u00e8te camerounaise, n\u00e9e le 15 juillet 1988 \u00e0 Douala (Cameroun). Irma est d\u00e9couverte par les fondateurs du label communautaire My Major Company en ao\u00fbt 2008 et s’inscrit sur le site un mois plus tard. En moins de trois jours, la chanteuse r\u00e9colte les 70 000 euros alors requis pour la production de son album. Parall\u00e8lement, la jeune femme continue d’alimenter sa cha\u00eene YouTube avec des reprises et ses propres compositions. Elle est \u00e9galement remarqu\u00e9e par le producteur de spectacles Auguri Productions, ce qui lui permet d\u00e8s mai 2010 d’assurer la premi\u00e8re partie d’artistes reconnus tels que -M-, Micky Green, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Diam’s ou encore Hindi Zahra.<\/p>\n

Son premier album \u00ab\u00a0Letter to the Lord\u00a0\u00bb, port\u00e9 par les singles I Know<\/em> et Watching Crap On TV<\/em>, sort en f\u00e9vrier 2011. Le mois suivant, Irma entame une tourn\u00e9e \u00e0 travers la France, la Belgique et la Suisse. Durant l’\u00e9t\u00e9, elle se produit sur les sc\u00e8nes de nombreux festivals europ\u00e9ens tels que le festival de jazz de Montreux, le Pal\u00e9o Festival \u00e0 Nyon, les Francofolies de la Rochelle et le festival Couleur Caf\u00e9. En octobre, la chanteuse signe un contrat avec le label Universal Republic.<\/p>\n

Irma appara\u00eet dans un spot publicitaire pour le navigateur Chrome de la firme Google, qui retrace son parcours en une minute. Le spot, illustr\u00e9 par le titre I Know<\/em>, est diffus\u00e9 pour la premi\u00e8re fois en janvier 2012 durant la retransmission des NRJ Music Awards et permet \u00e0 la chanteuse d’accro\u00eetre sa notori\u00e9t\u00e9. En mai, son album se classe num\u00e9ro 1 des ventes sur l’iTunes Store, il est certifi\u00e9 Disque de Platine et elle re\u00e7oit le prix \u00ab Talent d\u00e9couverte \u00bb lors de la soir\u00e9e des Talents France Bleu. La m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, Irma est nomm\u00e9e aux Victoires de la musique dans la cat\u00e9gorie \u00ab r\u00e9v\u00e9lation sc\u00e8ne de l’ann\u00e9e \u00bb et aux MTV Europe Music Awards dans la cat\u00e9gorie \u00ab\u00a0Meilleur artiste fran\u00e7ais\u00bb.<\/p>\n

En 2013, Irma figure dans un nouveau spot publicitaire de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Google, utilisant la chanson Letter to the Lord<\/em>. La campagne t\u00e9l\u00e9vis\u00e9e permet \u00e0 son single I Know<\/em> et \u00e0 son album de r\u00e9int\u00e9grer le classement des meilleures ventes de l’iTunes Store. La chanteuse s’installe \u00e0 New York et entre en studio afin d’enregistrer \u00ab\u00a0Faces\u00a0\u00bb, son deuxi\u00e8me album. Un nouveau single, intitul\u00e9 Hear Me Out<\/em>, est commercialis\u00e9 en f\u00e9vrier 2014. L’album, qui voit le jour au mois de juin, comprend un titre enregistr\u00e9 avec Matthieu Chedid alias -M-. En 2020, elle publie un troisi\u00e8me album studio, \u00ab\u00a0The Dawn\u00a0\u00bb, suivi des opus \u00ab\u00a0Douala Paris\u00a0\u00bb (2022) et \u00ab\u00a0The Sound Of What We Are \u00bb (2023). En 2024, elle livre l\u2019E.P acoustique \u00ab\u00a0Live From Paris \u00bb, puis elle d\u00e9voile succesivement trois singles (\u00ab\u00a0House Of Cards \u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Human Nature \u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Misss Celie\u2019s Blues (Sister) \u00bb), extraits de son prochain album, qui est attendu pour cet automne.<\/p>\n
