Future Echoes | 17 to 19 February 2022 in Norrköping, Sweden
The latest edition of Future Echoes, Sweden’s leading international festival, will be taking place from 17 to 19 February in Norrköping. The line-up includes two ‘Made in France’ artists.
SUN
SUN is a Franco-German singer-songwriter, guitarist and actress. Her debut EP Brutal Pop bowled over the press and the public thanks to the new sound that she had created: pop songwriting with elements of rock and metal called ‘brutal pop’. SUN began her career in death metal groups on the one hand, and musicals on the other: she played Édith Piaf in France, South Korea and Japan, and she was also a standout performer on The Voice France. As an actress, her first appearance on screen was a lead role in Tom Medina, a feature film that was chosen for the official selection at Cannes 2021, directed by internationally renowned director Tony Gatlif. The character was based on herself, and she acts, sings her own songs and plays her gleaming Telecaster. Recently, her song ‘I Killed My Man’ made the final of the International Songwriting Competition in 2020, which had 26,000 entries from around the world.
SKYGGE
SKYGGE aka Benoit Carré is at the avant-garde of musicians who are attempting to free their creative potential using A.I. With his debut album Hello World, released in 2018, he became one of the first artists to produce pop music by employing A.I throughout. Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale ‘The Shadow’, Benoit Carré created his avatar, SKYGGE (shadow in Danish) as his own shadow, one revealed by his work with A.I. tools, which he’d been developing with a team of researchers since 2015. On his new project, Interface Poetry (released early 2022), SKYGGE worked with A.I. to find a unique musical identity.
