GRAMMY Awards | French Artists Shine in the 2025 Grammy Nominations!

The Recording Academy has unveiled the full list of nominees across all 94 categories for the 67th Grammy Awards, set to take place in 2025. Among the names making headlines, several French and “Made in France” artists (signed to French labels) stand out on the prestigious list!

Let’s start with the legendary electronic duo Justice, who have been nominated in two distinct categories: Best Dance/Electronic Album for their fourth studio release, Hyperdrama, which dropped last April, and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for their track “Neverender,” featuring Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, taken from the same album.

French metal band Gojira is also in the running, earning a nomination for Best Metal Performance with their powerful track “Mea Culpa (Ah! ça ira!),” featuring mezzo-soprano Marina Viotti and composer/producer Victor Masne. The song, first performed during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics this summer, has since racked up over six million streams on Spotify.

Superstar DJ and producer David Guetta has secured a spot in the Best Remixed Recording category for his reinterpretation of Shaboozey’s track “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” released on the U.S. label Dogwood/Empire..

In the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category, French jazz vocalist Cyrille Aimée is nominated for her heartfelt album À Fleur de Peau, released on the UK-based Whirlwind Recordings. She’ll be up against tough competition, including Gregory Porter with his album Christmas Wish, released under the French label Decca Records France.

 

Five-time Grammy Award winner and French-Beninese icon Angélique Kidjo is back this year, vying for the Best Global Music Performance award for her uplifting track “Sunlight to My Soul,” recorded alongside the Soweto Gospel Choir and available via Warner Music France’s Parlophone label.

French representation continues in the Producer of the Year, Classical category, with nominations for two major projects: American Dreams, conducted by Louis Langrée, and Dvořák: Symphony No. 9, ‘From the New World’; American Suite, led by French conductor Nathalie Stutzmann.

Finally, the opera album Saariaho: Adriana Mater, featuring French soprano Axelle Fanyo, has earned nominations in two categories: Best Opera Recording and Best Contemporary Classical Composition.
