Cinéma Paradiso Louvre : throwback on the 2025 edition
Cinéma Paradiso Louvre: Three Artists Filmed Live at the Heart of French Heritage
As part of the Cinéma Paradiso Louvre festival, mk2 and What the France (CNM) joined forces to create an exceptional evening dedicated to emerging French music, set in the heart of the Cour Carrée of the Louvre. The idea was simple yet powerful: go to a museum to experience music.
This collaboration reflects a shared ambition—to offer developing artists rare visibility at the crossroads of heritage, cinema, and contemporary musical creation.
Integrated into the official mk2 festival program, the CNM × What the France evening showcased three artists from leading French artist development programs: Sam Sauvage, Asfar Shamsi, and Tuerie. Their performances were captured in a series of video capsules combining live concert moments and intimate conversations, all set against one of the most iconic cultural backdrops in the world.
A resounding success: new albums, Olympia shows, La Cigale…
The three artists featured during this special event are living proof of the effectiveness of France’s key artist development schemes—Le Chantier des Francofolies, FAIR, and the Prix Joséphine. For several years, What the France has worked closely with these initiatives, providing artists with tailored support and high-quality visual content essential to their growth. And it shows: all three are now performing in some of Paris’s most legendary venues.
Join us as we revisit their Louvre performances and catch up on their latest news
Sam Sauvage: Living in the moment in an exceptional setting… already every bit a rising star
Supported by Le Chantier des Francofolies, Sam Sauvage delivered a deeply engaging performance, filmed live in the Cour Carrée of the Louvre.
Since then, his momentum has only grown. His upcoming show at La Cigale is already sold out, a clear sign of a rapidly expanding and loyal audience, and an Olympia concert is scheduled for 2026. A trajectory that confirms both his love for live connection and his reputation as a true performer.
This journey continues with the release of his debut album, Mesdames, Messieurs !, out this Friday, January 30, as well as his nomination at the 2026 Victoires de la Musique in the category Male Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
Tuerie: Powerful songwriting captured on stage at the Louvre… and a first Olympia in May
Winner of the Prix Joséphine 2023, Tuerie delivered an intense and introspective moment, driven by honest writing and a performance deeply connected to his audience.
Filmed live in the Cour Carrée of the Louvre, the session highlights the strength of his universe and the precision of his delivery. Since the release of his third album, Les Amants terribles, last April, Tuerie has continued to refine his craft, collaborating with major figures in French rap—notably on the track “Magique” featuring Oxmo Puccino.
He now invites audiences to a defining milestone in his career: a concert at the Olympia on May 14, 2026, a powerful symbol of his artistic journey.
Asfar Shamsi: An addictive blend of aesthetics in the Cour Carrée… see you on the festival circuit this summer
Revealed through the FAIR program, Asfar Shamsi took over the Cinéma Paradiso Louvre stage with a bold, sensitive, and direct performance.
Originally from Strasbourg and self-taught, Asfar Shamsi represents a new generation of artists eager to blur stylistic boundaries. Rejecting rigid categories, she builds a world where rap-inflected writing meets pop sensitivity, enriched by intimate electronic textures.
Her filmed concert highlights a project coming fully into its own. Since then, she performed at La Maroquinerie in October 2025 and will appear at several summer 2026 festivals, extending the exposure sparked by this landmark event.
