CNM – Certifications Export 2025 | The Playlist !

This Thursday, May 21st, the National Music Center (CNM) is publishing the certifications for international listening of artists produced in France, in partnership with the SNEP (French National Music Institute). The 2025 vintage confirms the dynamism of French music production, particularly new releases, which are acclaimed worldwide.

In 2025, a total of 758 singles and 57 albums from 440 artists were certified Diamond, Platinum, or Gold. These certified tracks generated 50 billion equivalent streams, including over 5 billion for new releases, thus confirming the international reach of French music.

Rap, Dance-Electro, Afrobeat, and Pop led the way among certified new releases.

In 2025, 136 new releases (122 singles and 14 albums) were certified internationally, representing 17% of the year’s total certifications. Overall, the most represented genres among new releases certified for export are Rap (35%), Dance-Electro (27%), Afro (14%), and Pop (13%). Regarding the gender distribution of artists, the proportion of women among certified artists remains low this year as well: only 22% of tracks feature a vocal tone identified as female and 5% a mixed tone. This trend is similar to that observed last year.

Diamond Certifications and Key Export Successes in 2025

This year, three artists achieved Diamond certification, or higher, with their first export certification:

– Gims and Dystinct with the single “NINAO” (2x Diamond),

– Blaiz Fayah, Maureen, and DJ Glad for the single “Money Pull Up” (2x Diamond),

– Kobzx2z and Red Luna for the single “Midnight” (Diamond).

Ofenbach achieved Diamond certification 9 times with the single “Overdrive” following the Cloned project and their European Cloned Tour, culminating in a performance at the Zénith in Paris last March. Disiz and Theodora (4 Victoires de la Musique awards in 2026) achieved Gold certification for their track “Melodrama.” Having spent 23 weeks at the top of the charts in France, the song surpassed the record previously held by Pharrell Williams’ “Happy,” accumulating 271 million streams worldwide and achieving 3x Diamond certification in France. Internationally, the track also made a breakthrough in Denmark, entering the Shazam top 200 and the top 30 airplay charts.

Zaho de Sagazan, an artist who shone at the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and at the opening ceremony of the 77th Cannes Film Festival, is entering 2025 with Gold certification for two singles, as well as for her album La Symphonie des Eclairs, which also achieved Gold status. Fueled by growing international success, the artist is embarking on a series of sold-out tours across Europe, North America, and Brazil.

The year 2025 saw the emergence of a new generation of up-and-coming artists. Among the 128 certified artists, many have more than three new releases certified internationally, such as Werenoi, Trinix, Gazo, Plüm, Tiakola, and Tony Ann. The latter has amassed over 450 million streams in just three years and has established himself as a major figure in contemporary instrumental pop, with his single “Icarus” achieving Diamond certification in 2025.

A French back catalogue acclaimed internationally

636 singles and 43 albums released before January 2023 have been certified internationally, representing 80% of the total number of certified tracks in 2025. The three most represented genres are Pop (30% of the back catalogue tracks certified in 2025), Dance/Electro (23%), and Rap (18%). Streaming music contributes to extending the lifespan of projects and to the rediscovery of established artists by younger generations. In this context, the French back catalogue is strongly represented in this year’s CNM export certifications, thanks to artists with a strong presence in Europe, such as Fally Ipupa, who has been performing major shows in Europe and was the first solo African artist to sell out the OVO Arena Wembley in London recently.

The 2000s and 2010s are particularly well represented among this year’s certifications (more than half of the certified tracks and albums), as exemplified by the duo Else, certified 16 times Diamond with their track “Paris.” Iconic 20th-century hits are also well represented, such as Daft Punk’s “Around the World,” certified 17 times Diamond. Among the female artists achieving notable success with their singles and albums released before January 2023 are Feist (12 tracks, in her back catalog, certified in 2025), Carla Bruni (11 tracks), Aya Nakamura (9 tracks), and Zaz (9 tracks).

This 2025 edition also gives pride of place to older back catalogs, with each decade since the 1940s (3 certifications) represented. For example, Charles Trenet’s “La Mer,” released in 1946, has achieved Diamond certification, making it the oldest track certified this year. This long-standing trend, spanning eight decades, reflects the public’s continued enthusiasm for timeless tracks and artists, in a context where the industry is increasingly focusing on the resurgence of older catalogs through tours, reissues, and documentaries.

French remains the dominant language, while multilingual tracks are characterized by significant linguistic diversity.

Of all the tracks certified this year, French clearly predominates (58% of tracks) compared to non-French tracks (33%) and instrumental tracks (9%). However, the linguistic diversity of tracks certified for export and identified as multilingual (excluding French) is evident, showcasing a wide variety of languages, often associated with specific musical genres. For multilingual rap tracks, French remains the primary language, alongside Spanish, English, and Moroccan Arabic (Darija). For multilingual Afrobeat tracks, French is most often paired with Lingala. In world and traditional music, French is most frequently associated with Creole languages, Algerian Arabic (Darija), and other European or African languages.

To celebrate these excellent musical results, we invite you to listen to all the new releases certified for export in 2025 in our “CNM – Export Certifications 2025” playlist.
