Pop | Celebrate International Pop Music Day with our selection of exclusive playlists!

Every October 7th, International Pop Music Day is celebrated around the world! The term “Pop”—short for “popular music”—first appeared in England in the 1950s; it described a softer variety of rock ‘n’ roll and the new styles emerging under its influence. Pop music spread to France and the United States during the 1960s and subsequently evolved alongside technological advancements, particularly the rise of synthesizers. Today, pop encompasses and is influenced by a multitude of musical styles; this movement would later give birth to what is now known as “urban pop.”

To mark International Pop Music Day, we invite you to listen to the latest releases in the genre via our “made in France” selection, updated weekly in the “Pop the champagne” playlist. We also invite you to (re)discover some of our exclusive playlists curated by iconic artists such as Louane, Videoclub, Suzane, L’Impératrice or François & The Atlas Mountain.
