French beatmaker ProleteR has spent the past decade establishing himself as an emblematic figure of the international electro, nu jazz and instrumental hip hop scene. Blending jazz samples, hip-hop rhythms and electro soul melodies, his tracks have racked up over 200 million streams across platforms, confirming his influence not only in Europe but also in the United States and Asia.
His discography began in 2011 with the release of the album “Curses from Past Times”; the single April Showers from that record was certified Platinum for export sales by the Centre National de la Musique (CNM) and the SNEP. Two years later, he released the EP “Feeding the Lions”, followed by the EP “Rookie (2014), before putting out the album “Fairuz” (2022). In 2025, he released his fifth project, titled “Temperamental Cats”, featuring collaborations with artists such as French-American rapper Napoleon Da Legend, Canadian artist Spark Houston, and Japanese producer Takadada Fu. Alongside his solo career, ProleteR also works on numerous remix projects and frequently collaborates with artists including Lyre Le Temps, Boogie Belgique, Chinese Man, Wax Tailor, Al’Tarba, Degiheugi or Smokey Joe & The Kid.
After performing in eleven European countries last September – accompanied by New York producer Blockhead and Berlin-based act Arms and Sleepers – he has since played three sold-out shows in France (Lyon, Marseille, and Paris). He is set to release his new project in October before heading to the United States (Dallas, Chicago, New York, Boston and Portland) and Canada (Toronto and Montréal) in January 2027, for what will be his third North American tour in the span of a year !
In spite of his busy schedule, the artist still found time to curate an exclusive playlist for What the France, featuring some of his made in France favorites. The lineup includes tracks by : Al’Tarba, The Geek x Vrv, Soul Square, Senbeï, La Fine Equipe & Santo, Fakear, Onra, GooMar, Kayo, Ours Samplus, Kognitif, Biga*Ranx & L’Entourloop, C2C, Wax Tailor & The Others, Smokey Joe & The Kid, Degiheugi, Mr.Troy, St Germain, Tumi & Chinese Man, Lil Fish ou James Cole Pablo & Tour De Manège.
