Scratch Massive | Un nouveau single et une playlist exclusive !
After six years of solo adventures and film soundtracks, still buoyed by the success of their previous album, Garden of Love (2018), which racked up over 20 million streams, Scratch Massive made a comeback on 29 August with the release of a new track: ‘I see you up tomorrow’. This single is sung by Maud Geffray and Sébastien Chenut, the two members of the group.
It is the first single to be released from their eagerly-awaited forthcoming album, Nox Anima, due in January 2025. It’s a slow, melancholy electronic pop track with impeccable production that you’ll want to listen to over and over again. Like their new album, it was composed and recorded in Los Angeles, somewhere between darkness and hedonism, pop and underground, sun and darkness. Inspired by the Hong Kong revolt of 2019 and directed in AI, the video for this track was directed by Manu Cossu. He takes us on a dreamlike journey into a chaotic world, where dreams and reality intertwine to create an immersive and introspective experience: ‘By exploring these themes, I hope to invite viewers to reflect on the nature of resistance and the power of music to transcend cultural and temporal barriers’.
To mark the occasion, the two Scratch Massive friends have put together an exclusive playlist for What the France. It’s a chance to listen to some of their old tracks again, as well as their new single of course, but also a selection of their favourite ‘made in France’ tracks. On the programme are works by Glauque, Laurent Garnier & 22Carbone, Daft Punk, Alain Bashung, Henn Yanni, The Populists, Lucie Antunes, Fabienne Debarre, Krikor Kouchian, Prudence, Canblaster, Patrick Juvet, Francis Lai, Simon Leoza, Odezenne, Françoise Hardy, Francis Cabrel, Sébastien Tellier, Yelle, Djedjotronic & Lokier, Gesaffelstein, Jeanne Added, Orelsan, Chloé Thévenin & Ben Shemie, VoX LoW, Koudlam and M83.
