Three new ‘Made in France’ artists will be performing together in the UK for the first time at the Courtyard Theatre on 24th November 2022.

The artists

Silly Boy Blue is the stage of name of French indie pop singer Ana Benabdelkarim. Her debut album, Breakup Songs, features 12 songs, some of which feature only guitar and voice. Others are given a magical touch by the richness of the rhythms and arrangements, thanks to production work from Apollo Noir and Sam Tiba from the group Club Cheval. This year she was nominated for a Victoires de Musique award (the French equivalent of the Brits).

UTO are a duo from Paris who sound like they might be from outer space. Their debut album Touch The Lock is chic and alien, rhythm-centric yet diaphanous and ghostly. Described variously as witchpop, dreampop and trip hop, they mine a rich seam of 90’s British music from the peripheries, with added je ne sais quoi.

Quasi Qui, the latest signing to French label Microqlima, is the new alt-pop project from Yehan Jehan and his sister Zadi. Their utopian/dystopian sci-fi vision, with its British synthpop and American pop influences like Quincy Jones, has already earned them plays on BBC 6 Music and Radio 1.
