Thousands of miles away from France, What the France joins musician Cecile Lacharme in her daily life. Armed with her cello, Cecile offers an enchanting and immersive musical journey, entirely based on her instrument.
Having received a classical education from a young age, she quickly sought to break free and explore more experimental sounds. She set out to discover new horizons, blending jazz, groove, and other musical styles. This eclectic approach allowed her to easily develop an identity as an artist with many facets. Her cello is transformed with the help of a pedalboard that enables her to record different tracks and loop them.
Cecile improvises on stage with rare ease, navigating between genres and merging various influences and emotions. She loves stepping out of her comfort zone, exploring new musical territories, and constantly pushing the boundaries of her art. Despite this, she remains true to herself, hoping to offer her audience a chance to connect with their own inner emotions.
After collaborating with artists such as Merryn Jeann, Coline Rio, and Snorri Hallgrímsson, she launched her solo career three years ago. The composer takes us on a journey to share her story and upcoming projects.
