Nouvelle Vague | A brand new single and an exclusive playlist!

Nouvelle Vague is a French group, originally from Paris, formed by Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux in 2003. Over the years, several renowned artists have passed through the ranks of the group, including Clara Luciani, Camille, Yelle, Julien Doré, Olivia Ruiz, Cœur de Pirate, Élodie Frégé, Mélanie Pain, Phoebe Killdeer, Marina Celeste, Gerald Toto, Soko, Cocoon, Hugh Coltman, Nadeah, Helena Noguerra, Mareva Galanter and Vanessa Paradis.

The band’s debut eponymous album, released in 2004, has since sold over a million copies worldwide. Two years later, Nouvelle Vague released the album Bande à part, confirming the success of its music abroad as this album appeared in the best-selling album charts in several European countries, including 8th in Portugal, 15th in Germany and 79th in the United Kingdom. In 2009, the band released the album 3, which was followed by Version Française (2011), Late Night Tales (2012), I Could Be Happy (2016), Rarities and Curiosities (2019).

After celebrating its twentieth anniversary with the release of a new album, entitled Should I Stay Or Should I Go, in February 2024, Nouvelle Vague recently released two new singles in a row: “Bleu Comme toi” performed by Orlane, released in August and “The Power Of love” sung by Bobbie, available since last November 13. The band is currently on a world tour with shows in Belgium, Portugal, Croatia, Mexico, the United States, Canada and Switzerland.

Before heading off to perform around the world, Nouvelle Vague stopped off to design an exclusive playlist for What the France, bringing together some of its made in France favorites.
