Once Upon a Masterpiece – Discover the story of the Bolero!
What the France presents “Once Upon A Masterpiece!”, a new video series highlighting the history of the greatest classical successes in the French repertoire.
In this second episode, discover one of the most popular symphonic works in the world: Maurice Ravel’s Bolero!
Originally conceived for ballet, the Bolero quickly established itself in France and abroad as a full-fledged symphonic piece, as hypnotic as it is innovative. Described as a “symphonic experience”, this work with its unchanging yet non-monotonous rhythm brought universal fame to its composer.
A video produced by the agency 3foisC, under the artistic direction of Christophe Cornubert, narrated by David Solinhac, and visually brought to life by Paul Bridot.
