Céphaz | On a mangé le soleil

This track is an allegory sung to an upbeat tune, but its message is very much a profound and serious one that should be spread all around the world. Through the song’s lyrics, Céphaz talks about overconsumption and the damage that it causes, be it via human exploitation or via the disappearance of natural resources.

About the artist

Born in Ghana, Céphaz was adopted by a French couple at the age of ten. As a musician, he would later be influenced by artists such as Tracy Chapman, Jacques Brel and Maxime Le Forestier but would soon find a style all of his own. In 2020, the artist decided to launch a solo career by releasing his very first single, ‘Depuis toi (Oh, oh)’, which gained over a million views on YouTube in the space of just a few months. Later that year, Céphaz unveiled his follow-up effort in the form of ‘On a mangé le soleil’, a single that earned him a place among 12 candidates chosen to take part in a TV programme to decide who would represent France at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest.
