MC Solaar | Hijo de Africa
On ‘Hijo de Africa’, MC Solaar declares his love of the African continent and denounces its under-development, colonialism, and the civil wars leading to mass exoduses. Claude M’Barali, better known as MC Solaar and sometimes as Claude MC, is a French rapper born in Dakar, Senegal.
About
From the release of his 1991 debut album, 'Qui sème le vent récolte la tempête', his singular poetic style, both tranquil and positive, was immediately evident. A great lover of literature, he plays with words and installs himself in a lineage of songwriters like Serge Gainsbourg. On 'Hijo de Africa', MC Solaar depicts the different faces of Africa with a very specific goal in mind: smashing cliches.
