The film score composer of La Belle Epoque, directed by Nicolas Bedos and presented at the Alliance Française French Film Festival in Australia, joins us for a Virtual Session on July 21, 2021 – 7 p.m. AEST. She will tell us about herself, her profession and how she composes a film score.

Meet Anne-Sophie Versnaeyen
Anne-Sophie Versnaeyen started her career by orchestrating film scores for different composers: Alexandre Desplat (Marius, Tales of Tales, De Rouille et d’Os), Jerôme Rebotier (Un illustre Inconnu, Sahara), Philippe Rombi (La nouvelle guerre des boutons) and since 2009 she has regularly collaborated with Armand Amar on compositions, arrangements and orchestrations.
She scored her first feature film Requiem pour une tueuse in 2011, by Jerôme Le gris with Mélanie Laurent and Clovis Cornillac, and has also written the music for several documentaries Devil’s Dog, Terres Extrêmes, and co-written the music for TV movies Une mère en trop by Thierry Petit and Tu vivras ma fille by Gabriel Aghion.
Collaboration with Nicolas Bedos
Since 2016, Versnaeyen has been collaborating with director Nicolas Bedos for whom she arranged the music for his first film Monsieur & Madame Adelman, and composed the opening music for the Molières ceremony which he presented in 2017. She also produced the compositions for La Belle Epoque, a feature film with Fanny Ardant, Daniel Auteuil, Doria Tillier and Guillaume Canet, which you can discover during this 31st edition of the Alliance Française French Film Festival from July 14.
